Great Midwest Football League

I am a huge football fan, but I did not realize that St. Louis has a semi pro football team till a friend of mine called me up and told me. The Midwest Chargers were founded in 2008 by Brandy Bold. The Chargers are owned by an African America Female (you know I had to throw that in there), Ms. Bold, is a product of Webster Groves High School. (You know how we St. Louisians’ always ask “what high school you go to?”) The Chargers played River City Eclipse on Saturday at Mehlville High School. I didn’t make it to the game, but the game was close and I heard it was good… sorry guys… but the Chargers came up with a loss 22-20 (insert some sort of sound affect here).
The Chargers are currently 3-6 and fulfilling their dreams to play football although they are not in the pros… These young men hold down full time jobs and support their families all the while sacking a quarterback, passing the ball or making touchdowns, doing exactly what they love. The Great Midwest Football League season starts in May and ends in August, just in time for the NFL season, so you will not miss out. There are several players from the Midwest Chargers team that has been selected to play in the 2009 GMFL All-Star game, which is September 13, 2009 in Chenos, IL. For all those interested in playing for a semi pro team or better yet the Midwest Chargers there are tryouts and you can contact Brandy Bold @ www.bbold22@yahoo.com to view team website and a full schedule www.midwestcharger.com
