HEEEE'S BAAAAACK

Ok, people... can someone pass me the tissue please, *smh*??? Just a minute ago, 34 year old Allen Iverson retired from the NBA (last week). I just told yall I think he only did it because he did not want to be playing in Memphis, with the Grizzlies, although, he said he did it for his family, not for the money and he felt like he still had a lot left in him. Mind you, since AI left the Philadelphia 76er's, um, like 4 years ago, it seems as though he has been demoted ever since. He played in Denver for 2 seasons, then in Detroit and now Memphis, where he drew the line and basically said "i want out"
Well as of Thursday, Allen Iverson has resigned with the Philadelphia 76er's and to be honest the Sixers has nothing to lose. Iverson was boo hooing at the press conference from beginning to end. Dont get me wrong... I like AI and actually became a fan of his once MJ23 retired, but come on... AI wins, he did not want to retire, he just wanted to be on another team, so he retired to get what he wanted.
Here are a few of his quotes from his press conference:
• "I have fans all over the world ... I appreciate them in Memphis, Detroit, Denver, but the relationship I have with these fans [in Philadelphia] is like no other."

• "People here watched me grow as a basketball player. They came in and cheered for me night in and night out, gave me everything that they had. That's why it was easy to give them everything I had."

• "This is one of the realest places in the world. They're passionate about their sports and I gave them everything I had and that's why they responded to me they way they did."

To be honest I have mixed emotions about all this, but who cares what i really think, right?

RAVENS STEELS ONE!

Sunday the Baltimore Ravens stole a win 20-17 in overtime over the Pittsburgh Steelers! Steelers backup QB,Dixon filled in while Ben Roethlisberger sat out per doctors order due to a concession. Although teammates statements somewhat questions Roethlisberger ability to play... (hold please)
Hines Ward statement:"This game [Sunday's against Baltimore] is almost like a playoff game," Ward told NBC's Bob Costas. "It's almost a 'must' win. So, I can see some players or some teammates kind of questioning like, 'Well, it's just a concussion. I've played with concussions before. I would go out there and play.' So, it's almost like a 50-50 toss-up in the locker room ... I've been out there dinged up. The following week, [I] got right back out there."
I think Ward may have been a bit bitter because of the loss, there is a huge possibility that had Ben played they may have won. Roethlisberger is expected to play next week.
The Ravens will meet the Steelers again in week 16.

IS THIS THE END?

As some of you may know by now, point guard Allen Iverson announced his retirement last week. Iverson was 1st round draft pick in 1996, and drafted by the Philadephia 76er's. Iverson spent 10 years with the 76er's,I really hated the fact that they traded him to the Denver Nuggets. I am sure the strategy was to win a championship ring with the Denver Nuggets, but that did not happen. Iverson lasted only two years in Denver, later signed with Detroit Pistons for a season, and then to the Memphis Grizzlies. There was talk of possibly playing with the New York Knicks, but thats all it was, just talk. The Philadelphia 76er's may not be the Lakers but I would have preferred he stay there and retire there. I dont think he is too thrilled with the way his career is ending: "I always thought that when I left the game, it would be because I couldn't help my team the way that I was accustomed to. However, that is not the case" Iverson stated in his retirement announcement. Iverson went on about spending time with his family, but i think the real issue is the constant moving, and he not being happy where he is... Iverson also stated "I still have tremendous love for the game, the desire to play, and a whole lot left in my tank. I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level" This is a cry for help... someone other than the Memphis Grizzlies sign me, or I'm out... Iverson did, but does not want to retire. There is talk that the Philadelphia 76er's are looking into resigning AI to replace the injured point guard, Lou Williams.
Now if you are a sports fan... we just seen an act of "let me out of here" from Kansas City Chiefs former running back Larry Johnson, who struck up a turmoil within the camp regarding gays... The 3-8 Kansas City Chiefs released him and the 8-3 Cincinnati Bengals signed him. Johnson knew what he was doing and so does Allen Iverson. Iverson will be playing again as soon as the team he wants, picks him up. This is NOT the end for Allen Iverson.

WEEK 11'S SUPRISE SUPRISE

I thought I had some upsets in the works, but it turns out that by the end of the night I was upset! How bout I start with some positive stuff! Philly 24 - Chicago 20, New England 31-New York Jets 14, New York Giants 34-Atlanta 21, Minnesota 35-Seattle 9. As for the Baltimore, Indy game, Indy 17-Bal 15... I am a Raven fan.
Did you see T.O!!! YES! YES! YES! The Buffalo Bills lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 18-15, but I loved the game! T.O. had 1 touchdown, 9 receptions and 197 yards which I think was more than what the Jaguars had as a team!!! Jaguars QB, David Garrard got the points where it was needed with a 2point conversion on a QB keep.
A round of applause goes to San Francisco's WR, Michael Crabtree for his 1st touchdown today. I actually had them listed to upset Greenbay... what was I thinking? GB 30-24 over San Fran.
ARI 21 StL 13... I also picked the StL Rams to beat Arizona Cards after last weeks performance against the NO Saints. Kurt Warner came in and was 15 of 19 passing, he got the win before receiving a blow to the head and exiting the field before halftime. Steven Jackson once again 100 plus running game today, but he needs help if they want to win... and Bulgers fumbles really dont help.
New Orleans Saints cleaned up on Tampa Bay. San Diego beat up on the Denver Broncos 32-3(i thought that would have been a close game). I just knew that the Washington Redskins would have a victory today! QB, Jason Campbell was 24/37 with 256 yards... Tony Romo was 15/27 with 158 yards and 1 touchdown... Cowboys, Marion Barber had 20 carries and 99 yards. Cowboys came out on top 7-6 over the Redskins.
LA Raiders came back from a 17-10 deficit... i guess they deserved to win, QB, J. Russell has been benched and QB Gradgowski ended his performance passing 17/34, 183 yds with 1 touchdown. Raider beat the Bengals 20-17.
Kansas City won in overtime 27-24. Pittsburgh had them in the 2nd quarter but let them back in, in the 3rd. QB, Ben had 3 td's, Matt Cassel had 2 td's. Ben was 32/42 passing and Matt was 15/30. Ben passing yds was 398, Matt had 248... so what did it, because Hines Ward rushed for 128 yds with 1 td??? It came down to mistakes... Ben had 2 interceptions and Matt had none... go figure. Ben did leave the game in overtime with an injury that may be "concussion oriented".
As for Monday Night Football I got Tennessee Titans over Houston Texans.

ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE!

StL Rams, RB, Steven Jacksons rams away with another 100 yards plus running game, but the Rams still falls behind. They played a good game and could have upset the New Orleans Saints but they didnt and almost doesn't cut it! They were tied 14-14 at the half and when the game resumed, Rams kicked off and Saints, Courtney Roby ran the ball back for what seemed to be 100 yards, but was actually 97 yards (LOL)!!! Steven Jackson put in work every game but it is never enough... SJ39 rushed for 131 yards against the Saints with 26 carries, totaling 915 yards for the season, which ranks him #3 in the NFL. The Rams finished, losing to the 8-0 Saints 23-28. The Rams picked up WR, Jordan Kent in replace of injured receiver, Keenan Burton. The StL Rams will face the Arizona Cardinals 11/22.
NFC West Standings
TEAM W L
Arizona 6 - 3
San Fran 4 - 5
Seattle 3 - 6
St. Louis 1 - 8

BILLS, BILLS, BILLS

Ok, now in previous news I have reported that the Buffalo Bills overall strategy was not working!!! Well, Well, Well.... what do you know... Lets recap quickly, they brought in Terrell Owens, got rid of some offensive linemen... Trent went down for a minute... Question: and what do they end up with??? Answer: a record of 3-6.
Bills owner Ralph Wilson just fired coach, Dick Juaron (last week)!!!! Then announced that nobody is safe! This man wants to win ball games!!! Well, i was thinking and was like, somebody better tell him he needs an offensive line that can block and somebody that can throw to T.O. No sooner than those thoughts flew in my head, news went out that the Bills signed QB, Brian Brohm from Green Bay's practice squad! I am proud to say that defensive coordinator, Perry Fewell is the interim coach for the season and a candidate for next year (let's see what moves he make)!!! Let's see what bills Mr. Wilson is willing to pay to win!

WHAT IN THE "SAM" HELL IS GOING ON?

Rumor has it that former Cubs, Sammy Sosa is suffering from the same skin disease that Michael Jackson had, vitiligo... Well that rumor has been reported to be false. A close friend has stated that Sammy is rejuvenating his skin, a cleansing process that most women undergo. WTH!!!

...AND THE RESULTS ARE IN

It looks like owner, Bud Adams took my advice and forced coach, Jeff Fisher of the Tennessee Titans to start the 2008, #3 pick, QB, Vince Young! The Titans won their 1st game of the season against QB, David Garrard and the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-13. Vince Young was 15 of 18 passing. He also did a little running for a total of 32 yards. I understood the purpose of them benching Young in 2008 but I think they left Kerry Collins in the game way too long. Point proven
The Baltimore Ravens literally smashed the Denver Broncos and their perfect record, ending the game with a 30-7 score. It all started with Jarret Johnson sacking Kyle Orten. The Ravens held the Broncos to 200 yards and the Broncos allowed the Ravens to be the 1st team this year to rush for more than 100 yards. Baltimore will face the Bengals next week, I got my money on the Ravens
I love Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind" but I will take Philly over NY any day, whether it is football, baseball, or basketball, you name it! The Philadelphia Eagles served the Giants with an excellent win, 40-17. I was a little concerned that Philly might hit some rough patches with Brian Westbrook sitting out due to a concussion he suffered during the Washington Redskins game. The highlight of the game, for me was when Donovan McNabb threw to St. Louis native, Jeremy Maclin for a touchdown and a first half 30-7 lead.
So far the Saints are still perfect... although the Saints had four turnovers, they still managed to pull out a great victory 35-27, over the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons gave all they had, but I dont think they had a chance. Atl's, QB, Matt Ryan was picked off 3 times. Saints safety, Darren Sharper received one of those picks, making it his 7th pick this season.

NFL WEEK 8

The Bengals, Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Buccaneers, and Redskins are resting this week. The Denver Broncos are 6-0 and they are facing the 3-3 Baltimore Ravens. I am expecting the Ravens to give the Broncos their first lost of the season. The Buffalo Bills have won their last two games, although i would like for them to win this week, the Houston Texans are the most likely to win. I got the 3-3 Chicago Bears over the 1-6 Cleveland Browns, this should be an easy win for the Bears. Key words: Should Be
4-2 Dallas Cowboys shall win over the 2-4 Seahawks.
I am going with the winless St. Louis Rams over the 1-5 Detroit Lions. The Minnesota Vikings had their first lost last week and I am no fan of Brett Farve, but i do like Adrian Peterson... but I say the Vikings lose to the 4-2 Green Bay Packers. So far the Indianapolis Colts has had a pretty easy schedule, and I am still waiting on someone to beat the Colts... I do know that it will not be 3-3 San Fran 49er's. The San Diego Chargers will get it in this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders need a better QB if they want to win. Last week JaMarcus Russell killed them, all by his self. I am picking the mighty Miami Dolphins have beat the Jets once, i got them beating them again this week. The Dolphins played a hell of a game against the Saints despite their loss. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been inconsistant and they are 3-3. Tennessee Titans are 0-6 but i believe they will come out with a win this week (they need to start Vince Young). 4-2 Arizona Cardinals over the 2-4 North Carolina Panthers. The Philadelphia Eagles need to get their life together in order to beat the 5-2 New York Giants. Even though NYG has beat Philly in the last 4 regular season games, I am going with the Eagles. Monday Night Football is starring the 4-2 Atlanta Falcons and the 6-0 New Orleans Saints on ESPN.

BUFFALO BLUFF

OMG, I must mention that I am so tired of people bad mouthing Terrell Owens. I read an article that calls T.O. a fallen star. They talked about how he may have one or two good games, but overall he is done… I would like to disagree… We thought Randy Moss was done and he went to the New England Patriots and resurrected his career. We thought Ricky William was out for the count, but he pulled it together and got back on the right track. They thought Marvin Harrison seen the last of his days, but he still got it.
T. O. has always been your controversial player, but I fault Buffalo this go round! I think they are trying to shut T.O. out. They did not bring him in to win games… They brought him in for publicity. How often do they pass to him? Lee Evans has several more yards than T.O. and he has one touchdown up on T.O. for a combination of 3 between the two men, this year. My question is how can you see the star shine if it is cloudy all the d@mn time? The Bills need a QB that is great and is going to throw the ball to him. The Bills need an offensive line that is superb and can block for them. That is what helps win games… not just one player that you refuse to let shine. T.O. is not the reason the Bills are not doing well, so I need these mouth runners to shut up and catch a few balls themselves, right in the mouth!

PHILLIES, NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

The Phillies are back in the World Series for the 7th time in 127 years (a little history fact for you all)! They beat the LA Dodgers 4 games to 1. They actually demolished the Dodgers in game 4 with a score of 10-4. Phillies, Ryan Howard was selected the NL championship series MVP!!!

MJ CAN'T WEAR JORDANS???

Marcus Jordan, the son of the best basketball player of all times, Michael Jordan, attends the University of Central Florida. UCF has a contract with adidas, and Marcus agreed to honor the contract by wearing the apparel, however, he would not set foot on the court in those shoes! MJ (Marcus Jordan) stated that he would be wearing Nike's Air Jordans (his dad's brand of shoes). The athletic director, Keith Tribble is saying that it is ok for Marcus to make that decision, based on the fact that the football team wears a different brand shoe (based on fit), but the spokesperson from adidas told CNBC that no compromise had been reached with the school...
So is this a breach of contract? Should Marcus have chosen a school that had a contract with Nike?

CLEVELAND: THREE'S COMPANY

Two’s a couple three’s a crowd (Shaq & Lebron – Braylon Edwards). It seems to be that Cleveland cant handle too many superstars in one city. Braylon Edwards is now with the New York Jets.
It looks as though the 0-4 Cleveland Browns has gotten rid of wide receiver Braylon Edwards and sent him over to the New York Jets. Edwards did not catch one pass that was thrown to him in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, last week that went into overtime and ended with a score of 23-20, with the Browns on the losing end. The Browns did receive wide receiver, Chansi Stuckey, Linebacker, Jason Tusnik and two undisclosed draft choices in replace of Edwards.
Edwards isn’t only having trouble on the field, but he took his frustrations out on Lebron James friend, and promoter Edward Givens at a club.
Given’s statement:
"After the club closed, I was outside greeting and saying goodbye to people. Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me. He said if it wasn't for LeBron or the Four Horsemen, I wouldn't have what I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a problem with LeBron. So I had to speak up for myself. The conversation started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back, he punched me. I have a black eye and a cut. I'm not a violent guy.
"As long as I've known Braylon, I've allowed him and his friends to come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me."
Looks like the Browns are saying good riddens, but I am believing that Edwards will pull it together in New York.

NL, StL vs LA

2009 NL playoffs start tonight with the St Louis Cardinals facing off with the LA Dodgers. The Cardinals are ranked 5th overall and the Dodgers are ranked 4th. I am banking on a good series. Although the Dodgers have Manny Ramirez, and a great bench, plus pitching relief, I am putting my money on the Cardinals, with key players like Albert Pujols, Chris Carpenter, Ryan Franklin and Yadier Molina.
SERIES SCHEDULE
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Game 2: StL @ LA, Oct 8

LOVE & BASKETBALL

All is well with love and basketball. Kim Kardashian's sister, Kloe just married Los Angeles Lakers, forward, Lamar Odom. Although the two only dated for about a month, Odom says the love and marriage is real. Kardashian and Odom married on Sunday, September 27, with guest such as Kobe and wife, Vanessa, Phil Jackson, Ryan Seacrest and many others. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds sang a song at the reception. Odoms baby mama of two, well actually ex wife, Liz Morales is not too happy with the union, and many others are in disbelief and if the marriage is a publicity stunt for the two. Lamar spoke on that too, stating that he gets more than enough publicity being a Laker. The LA Lakers are the 2009 NBA Champions, with Odom starting in 5 of those post season games. Odom appeared in 23 games, averaging 12.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.35 blocks in 32.0 minutes, while posting 14 double-figure scoring games and converting seven double-doubles. At the end of the season the Lakers were on the verge of getting rid of Odom, but since has come to a contract agreement. I tip my hat off to anyone getting married.

HONORABLE MENTION

The St. Louis Blues made it to the first round of the playoffs and lost, not bad. The St. Louis Cardinals are having one heck of a year and it looks like they will be in the playoffs again... Here is my 2009 Honorable mention… The Saint Louis Rams! This is my home team and I would love to blog about them throughout the season, but there might not be much to say about them this season, so I am getting it out of the way early… I just cant figure out what it is that they are exactly doing. The Rams had the best game on turf… What the hell happened? The league took away their bob n weave celebration dance in the end zone and the Rams as we knew them are no more. We lost coaches, we got rid of coaches. The Georgia past away… did she take their moe joe with her. The original players that were with the Rams in LA, that came to the StL are no more, once they threw out Isaac Bruce. No more Kurt Warner, no more Tory Holt, no more Orlando Pace… my goodness, I could go on and on.
What are the rams missing? Is it key players? Do they have what it takes to win a game this year or are we looking at another year of rebuilding?
I was checking out their 2009 schedule and I gave the Rams 3 wins, 4 if they are lucky. I had the Rams beating the Seahawks @home, the 49’ers @home, the Detroit Lions, and the Redskins (which leaves them 3 games, since the redskins beat them, 9/20).
The Rams made some key plays, Sunday but could not win against the Washington Redskins. The Redskins beat the Rams 9-7. Then there was the 28-0 game loss against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are now 0-2… I will still say my prayers at night, that God will bring about a change, a winning change!

THE CRABTREE PLOT THICKENS

There might be a good reason that Michael Crabtree has sat at the bottom of the barrel and has not signed with the San Fransisco 49'ers. The New York Daily reported that the San Francisco 49ers have reportedly filed tampering charges against the New York Jets, relating to the holdout of rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

Crabtree has rejected the Niners' contract offers and is threatening to reenter next year's draft.

Reason for the grievance: The 49ers may believe the Jets contacted Crabtree's agent, Eugene Parker, to let him know they'd be interested in trading for his rights, or in drafting him in 2010 with a better salary than San Francisco is offering.

Through a team spokesman, the Jets denied the allegations.

I must admit that the rookie quarter back, Mark Sanchez is looking pretty good. The Jets beat New England Patriots this past Sunday, and if you add Crabtree to the mix, that would add a nice spice.

The NFL's trade deadline is Oct.20, while the 49ers must either sign Crabtree by Nov.19, or surrender his rights, putting him back into the draft pool for 2010.

If the allegations are true, I can see why Crabtree made the move that he made.

"BIG EGO"

Floyd “Money” Mayweather, need I say more… It has been 651 days since his last fight. Mayweather faced off with Juan Manuel Marquez, Saturday night in Vegas, leaving the ring with a 40-0 record (25 KO’s). Mayweather landed 290 punches out of 493, while Marquez landed 69 of 583. What more can I say. I am glad to hear and see that Floyd’s dad, Floyd Sr. is back on his team, ending a 9 year battle. Mayweather won in the ring but lost money for being 2pds over weight, $600,000 was the penalty. I wonder how soon will it be before he fights again and who will the match up be with…

Floyd "Money" Mayweather Quotes (just a few):

“Credentials don’t lie and my record speaks for itself. I was in the sport 11 years and I was a champion for 10 years. I left on top, and I am coming back on top. I am ready to reclaim what’s mine."

“I am the king and no one has taken my crown."

“I am back because the sport of boxing needs me and the fans want me to. Everywhere I go, they go crazy."

“Some day someone might shut my mouth, but right now I am going to talk. I am the top dog and I am back in the spotlight."

~He talk like this 'cause he can back it up (i just sang that like Beyonce did)

MONDAY NITE BANGERS

Monday night football was great! What a way to start the season! I must admit… I was rooting for the Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills. I do believe the refs got it wrong for the touchdown that they reversed and said that rookie, Louis Murphy did not have control of the ball… that was a touchdown and they know it! That call, right there hurt the Raiders and the defense on that last offensive play by the Chargers and Sproles dashed into the end zone!!!! Defense Raiders, DEFENSE! The San Diego Chargers came out victorious 23-20. Overall, I was proud of Jamarcus Russell, he was 13-30 and 2 interceptions. Philip Rivers was 24 of 36, passing. The Raiders has lost their 7th straight season opening game, but hey, they fought the good fight, it was a great game. Fans that some players would love to hate are those Raiders fans!!!! I must admit they are some of the most DEDICATED fans I have seen in NFL history! Now if we talk baseball I would say Yankees & Mets, but no other fan base stand out like the Raiders, OMG!!! I swear I think they are crazy, but I’m sure the Raiders love them! Gotta Love It!
As for those Bills, my GOODNESS! New England look good, but my opinion is that Trent Edwards outperformed Tom Brady. T.O. only caught two passes for 46 yards… talk about teamwork, that was a team effort and a team loss. I thought we had it the game and threw it in the bag!!! Boy was I wrong, by one point! That is the worst! ONE POINT! New England 25, Buffalo Bills 24, That’s all I’m gonna say… Stay Tuned… Preview for next Monday night game

HERMAPHRODITE, STILL A GEM

A gender test was performed on 800m gold medalist, 18 year old, Mokgadi Caster Semenya who got the whole world talking when she finished the race with a time of 1:55.45, leaving the other running in her tracks to finish with a time of 2 minutes plus. No sooner than the race was over, many people was calling this young teenager a boy and the web posted over 75 photos from various angles for the world to view. Although her victory poses did seem very mannish, Semenya handle the rumors with class. Semenya was unaware of the test. She thought she was being tested for drugs. The test requires a physical medical evaluation, gynecologist, psychologist, internal medicine specialist, endocrinologist and a gender expert. Amidst unconfirmed reports that Semenya is a hermaphrodite. Although Semenya has a ton of testosterone, actually three times a woman, she previously stated that she is all woman, “God made me the way I am and I accept myself”. The IAAF league, coaches, and other accusers were extremely embarrassed on how they handled the situation, now that the unconfirmed results are in, now what? Do they take away her medal, do she get to race again, most importantly how does she move forward. Semenya is a true gem to her family and South Africa. She is a human that has a heart and feelings. Do you think the results should have been made public? This is still a vulnerable teenager.

WHAT LIES AHEAD OF US

DUN DUN DUN DUUUN, you know how the rest go… insert NFL theme music here!
GAME OPENER TONIGHT! Are you excited as I am? I would like for the 1st game of the season to be on Sunday night rather than Thursday, but who am I (LOL)? Moving right along... We have such an unpredictable season ahead, no football analyst knows what is in store for us this season. The Super Bowl XLIII Champs, Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off the 2009 NFL season with last season, 13-3, Tennessee Titans. Although the Titans beat the Steelers twice in the regular season last year, Mike Tomlin and his Steelers are ready, with no doubt what-so-ever in Big Ben, to lead them to another Super Bowl victory.
Will the Tennessee Titans come out of Pittsburgh with a win tonight? DUN DUN DUN DUUN…(once again insert music here)

AS THE NFL TURNS

September 10 can’t come fast enough. The NFL season starts and I can’t wait to see how the NFL teams kick the season off. We should be able to tell what teams will be winners and losers. There is so much drama and speculation in the preseason; you would think it was a NFL soap opera!!!
We got many thinking that New England or the NY Giants will steal the big show: Super Bowl XLIV. I am really praying for a league upset… not just a divisional upset. I am talking like Detroit Lions, or Buffalo Bills upset! San Francisco 49er’s or StL Rams upset!!! Miami Dolphins or those Philly Eagles come through!!!! You guys cant count out the New Orleans Saints. All it takes is one key player to step their game up or get hurt, and it’s a done deal. (giggle giggle) I know you all are like, “is this girl crazy?” Well I am not lying when I tell you, that is what I want to see. Arizona is not going to make it as far as they did last year. Pittsburgh will not win 2 in a row, I don’t want to see NY Giants or Jets win. I have sprinkled a negative potion on the Minnesota Vikings for their wrong doings, Brett won’t get them far. Who needs a quarterback? Just about everybody, well I think they got Tavares Jackson for sell!!! *SMH* so ridiculous. We got Matt Cassell down and out with KC Chiefs. Cincinnati Bengals could use a QB. The StL Rams got to cut about 21 people, and they have already got rid of Tye Hill. They really are starting over… let’s see who they might grab from some other team. So what the Rams are 2-1 in the preseason, and Stephen Jackson has about 8 touchdowns. It means nothing if they cant score in the regular season. Arizona is 0-3 and they were Division Champs. The cuts and signings are not over just yet. I am wishing that T.O. (Terrell Owens) show his @ss on the field and the Buffalo Bills come away with some wins, so everyone can shut their mouths (CHEESE)! It was not T.O.’s fault in Dallas, maybe it was in Philly, but not Dallas! I really think the Philadelphia Eagles would have won a Super Bowl had T.O. cooperated (LOL). I think they are lying about Daunte Culpepper toe injury (your toe don’t hurt that bad), so now the rookie, Matt Stafford will be starting. You got coach, Al Davis being the talk of the Oakland Raiders. Pittsburgh Steelers, QB, Big Ben “I didn’t do it” law suit, no good. Michael Crabtree still has not signed yet. I know I am all over the place, but so is everybody else. So, let me wrap up this soap I got going… Here are my Division picks:
NFC North: Chicago Bears
NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
NFC South: New Orleans (my co worker begs to differ… ATL)
NFC West: San Francisco 49er’s
AFC North: Baltimore Ravens (I hear a bunch of yall screaming Pittsburgh)
AFC East: New England Patriots
AFC South: Tennessee Titans
AFC West: San Diego Chargers

THE GREATEST EVER!!!!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's super... No wait!!! It's Michael Jeffrey Jordan!!! OH MY GOSH, who will ever forget Michael Jordan!!! All the dunks, all the game winning shots, all the crossovers, all the fade aways and all the championship rings (let me not forget to mention that nobody chews gum like he do)!!!!! Who can top the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball? I know there are many that would beg to differ. Uuummmm, let me see, just to name a few Magic Johnson was good, Dr. J was good, Wilt Chamberlain was good, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Shaq, Moses Malone, Kobe is ok (let me stop hate'n), Lebron got skills and the list goes on and on... I just dont think that no one had it or got it like MJ23. Jordan got mad skills on and off the court. Jordan got commercials, shoes, clothes, cologne, movies, videos with Michael Jackson! Whew, i can go on and on. Jordan is a corporation in himself. Ok, let me stop, and get to the point that I am trying to get to. Ok, wait... Let me add that Jordan led the Bulls to 6 NBA titles, no one has done that and one night that man was sick as a dog, and still out played everybody (yall gonna try to tell me that Kobe did that too, huh?). Jordan plays golf, and stepped into the baseball league for a minute. The man is incredible, (sigh) "my hero" (i said it real soft and sweet).

Michael Jordan will be inducted into The Basketball Hall of Fame, September 11, 2009 at Springfield's historic Symphony Hall. The Symphony Hall seats over 2,600. The Hall of Fame, where the ceremony is normally held holds about 1,200 people, but seeing as though Michael Jordan, David Robinson, and coaches Jerry Sloan and C. Vivian Stringer are also being inducted, they moved the location for the special occassion. The Basketball Hall of Fame has also opened up a Michael Jordan exhibit that displays many items throughout MJ's career. I think I am going to make a special field trip just so I can see this!!! I LOVE MJ23!

BUSTED OR BUSTED?

This is for all my NCAA people… Now we all know about the hoopla over Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose. If you don’t know, let me catch you up real quick. Someone waited till Derrick Rose made it big to turn around and let his little secret out… that another student took his SAT exam for him, which we all know is a huge violation. Rose played for the Memphis Tiger who went 38-2, breaking a NCAA record during the 2007-2008 season, also advancing to the Final Four. Rose stated “I know I didn’t do anything wrong.” Memphis became aware of the violation in January 2009, a meeting wasn’t held with the NCAA till June. The Memphis Tigers most likely will be forced to forfeit their NCAA record breaking season. The NCAA held a news conference on Thursday. Coach Josh Pastner gave no comments. This is not the first time that Memphis has had to forfeit a season and it is not former coach john Calipari first time vacated a final four season either. So who is busted, the school, the coach or Rose? Well Rose is sitting pretty with his millions, I dont see the Bulls dumping him. Coach is in Kentucky right now, will the school have to pay the $bucks$ back??? I dont know about that. Rose was the #1 overall draft pick in 2008. Rose was second among rookies with an average of scoring 16.8 points a game. Rose helped the Chicago Bulls make it to 2009 playoffs, almost but not quite beating the Boston Celtics.

VICK AN EAGLE

NEWS FLASH: MICHAEL VICK HAS SNAGGED A JOB IN "THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE" PHILADELPHIA!

I should have stated in my previous blog on Vick that I knew that a team that said they did not want Vick or could not use him was going to sign him. I knew it! Michael Vick has signed a 1 year 1.6 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles with a second year team option for 5.2 million, no signing bonus or anything like that. Tony Dungy has been mentoring Vick and I believe he has been an influence with Philly's decision to sign him. Dungy was also present with Vick and Andy Reid at the press conference “I really got the sense he wanted to do some great things,” Dungy said.
Philly already has a star quarter back, Donovan McNabb and many think that his job may be at stake. Believe me when I say, "no way". The city is big enough for both quarter backs. This is great for Philly and McNabb. Head coach, Andy Reid could use Vick as a back up qb, or maybe even throw him in as a slot receiver or runningback, who knows. Philly has been booing McNabb since he was drafted, now he can share the pressure. Both QB's are talented and has different versatility. The Eagles will gain from this "risky" decision. The Eagles drafted St. Louis native, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin which I personally think will have great chemistry with Vick. I just really hate how the media is doing all this name calling, and trying to stir up controversy where there is none. Vick and Donovan will help the Eagles soar to the playoffs. I really hope that Vick plays so well that he shuts everybody up. The Patriots did defeat the Eagles, 27-25 in their first preseason game, last night(8/13/09). Signing Vick was a phenomenal move by the Philadelphia Eagles.

BATTLE OF THE QB"s

In most cases your quarterback is the leader of your offensive team. We have several NFL teams with multiple quarterbacks shooting for that starter position, a chance to lead their team to the playoffs, better yet the Super Bowl! Well, let the drums roll and the battle begin!!!

New York Jets has Kellen Clemens and drafted rookie Mark Sanchez, but there is no doubt that Sanchez will be the starting man for the Jets. I am not so sure what Clemens has done in the past because I don’t recall any special moves or plays he may have had in his career. The Jets are looking at rookie Sanchez as a Flacco, or Big Ben situation (we will see).

Then there is rookie Matt Stafford, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions and competing with 11 year veteran, Daunte Culpepper. Based on the fact that the Detroit Lions are trying to rebuild their team Culpepper might start a couple games but I am sure if he does not have that power punch, Stafford will definitely carry the Lions this season of course it really does matter what the offensive line do… they will have to really protect the rookie in order for him to really be successful this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers has 3 quarterbacks, Byron Leftwich, 7 years in the game, Luke McCowen is 6 years in, and then there is the rookie Josh Freeman who wants a shot at the starting position. Not so sure how this may play out, but Leftwich is most likely to start seeing as though the Bucs brought him in several months after they brought in McCowen, then recruited rookie Josh Freeman.

There will not be much battling in San Francisco case. Shaun Hill was the starter while Alex Smith was out and he wasn’t so bad. Smith would have to significantly prove that he is the man in San Fran! This is a no brainer for Mike Singletary, but we will see if he thinks too hard. My bet is Hill will get to start.

Here we go… I am no friend of Brady Quinn for holding out his rookie season (still bitter), so I give this start in Cleveland, to pro bowler, Derek Anderson. Quinn just may finish the season.

Minnesota, Minnesota *smh* Those who know me know that I am so upset with Minnesota for allowing Brett Farve to waste everybody’s time!!! I think it was a slap in the face to Tavaris Jackson. If you don’t want the guy then get rid of him!!! They brought in 31 year old, Sage Rosenfels then allowed Brett Farve to conduct a media circus within the Vikings camp all summer long, just to say… thanks for the consideration, but no thanks. Jackson was effective last year and has to really come out strong in order to reclaim his spot. Rosenfels is a 9 year veteran, but I have no idea what he has done, no really, I have no clue, I would have to look it up… (lol, smiley face).

Those are my calls, now you call it!
