We Want Vick, We Want Vick

I LOVE MICHAEL VICK!!!! Did I say that out loud? Well I meant it… I love Mike Vick!
Former Atlanta Falcons, Quarterback, Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by NFL’s commissioner, Roger Goodell. Although Vick will be suspended for four games, the surprise now is finding out which team will sign him!
I am a St. Louisian... and I would love to see Vick throwing that ball in Saint Louis. Wishful thinking, but it is so unlikely. The Rams are too d@mn upity to make such an adventurous or would that be a risky move? Michael Vick still has fans, I believe he still has that talent too. I cant wait to see what lucky team actually nabs this dude. He is going to do great things, that is if he gets some clock!
I really want to know why are so many people trying to crucify him all over again??? This 29 year old was once the highest paid quarterback in the league (at one point). He had gained the world and within a twinkling of an eye, he turned around and lost it all. Vick was suspended from the league indefinitely, he received a 29 month jail sentence, he filed bankruptcy, he has lost some fans, and the list of losses go on and on. Obviously God is on his side. Somewhere in the bible it says “if God be for you, who can be against you?” I am sure Michael Vick regrets his actions and the decisions he has made, but God gave this young man a talent and another opportunity with the NFL. Many have expressed that they will not be interested in him, but there are many teams and players that do want Vick on their team! Wherever Vick goes, he will have some fans, he may not start, but he will produce those good numbers! Mike Vick has paid he debt to society plus some… can we please let his crime go? There are others who have taken the lives of human beings and have not been punished to the extent that Vick has. Let this young man live his life, and how bout the media go on with theirs.

The King has Spoken!

Lebron James, The King on the basketball court, got dunked on!!!! By who, you ask. King James was dunked on by Jordan Crawford. “Who is Jordan Crawford?” Crawford is a 6”4 guard, sophmore college kid from Xavier who attended James Skills Academy, Nike Basketball Camp. During a pick up game with James & Friends against some campers, Jordan Crawford drove the ball past one defensive player then gave a strong two hand dunk over King James. Minutes after the dunk, Nike quickly confiscated tapes from camera men and supposedly another college kid who was a freelance photographer. It was reported that Lebron James requested the confiscation of every tape. Nike spokesman, Derek Kent reported that recording of Lebron James after the camp was prohibited. He stated that the no video taping policy was not respected and that is why the tapes were confiscated.
I like Lebron, as a matter of fact I think he is one of the greatest basketball players in the league right now. So what’s the big deal?
SO WHAT, you got dunked on. The best of the best ends up getting dunked on at some point! I do wish I could have seen it!!!

2009's All Star City

We don’t have a basketball team… Our hockey team is really trying to make a comeback... Our football team isn’t at their best right now… but Saint Louis can always count on baseball!!! St. Louis has a great baseball team and great fans. No matter how bad the St. Louis Cardinals get, the fans are always at Busch Stadium clapping and cheering our team on.

St. Louis gets to host the 80th MLB All Star Game, July 14, 2009. There will be plenty of stars floating around The Lou this weekend. I just hope we give’um some of that good’ol St. Louis weather!
This year we have 3 St. Louis Cardinals on the All Star roster: 1st baseman, Albert Pujols, catcher, Yadier Molina, and reliever, Ryan Franklin. For those who may not know (but I guess you should if you are reading a sport blog) the All Star game consist of two teams... the American League and the National League. St. Louis is apart of the National League, and the American League has beat us the last 6 years, actually 11 years, not counting the year they tied. So I am praying for a grand win in the StL, seeing as though we got StL’s own, Albert Pujols, NY’s Derek Jeter, and Phillies Ryan Howard… I think we can put them away this year!!! Plus we got StL’s own, Tony LaRussa along with ex St. Louis Cards coach Joe Torres on the coaching staff. What more can we ask for… just a win!
We go to other cities and admire their building and monuments but I must admit… I Love my hometown!

Steve McNair 1973 - 2009

I really hate to mention the loss of another great life, but here I go… NFL star, Steve McNair was shot early morning, July 4th, 2009. His death has been ruled a homicide, but the cause of death of his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi has yet to be determined. It has been reported that Kazemi had no motive to kill McNair and self, although she did purchase a gun. Investigators are not ruling out a third party, that may have staged the homicide to look like a homicide/suicide. McNair was shot four times. Three times from a distance and one time, close range to the head. Kazemi was also shot in close range, just once to the head. Family members of Sahel Kazemi are left with many questions… they said she seem so happy, and they young man (McNair) took care of everything for her. They were also told by Kazemi that McNair and his wife was in the process of a divorce. McNairs relationship with Kazemi was obviously no secret. McNair had purchased the young lady a truck for her 20th birthday, and it was in his and her name. McNair was also leasing the condo that she was living in and he was seen there often. TMZ has more than enough pictures of the two together, out and about and they seem like they had nothing to hide. We do not know what McNair and his wife was going through but he was still married. We don’t know the exact series of events that led up to the unfortunate death of this great quarterback, but my prayers go out to his wife and four kids. We will never know what exactly happened and why… Another spectacular life gone too soon
Steve McNair
2/14/1973 – 7/4/2009

Steve McNair was a 1st round draft pick in 1995 and spent 13 years with the NFL. 11 of those years were spent with the Tennessee Titans and 2 years with the Baltimore Ravens. McNair was a 4 time pro bowler and ended his career regular season passing statistics with 4,544 passing attempts, 2,733 completions, 31,304 yards, 174 touchdowns, 119 interceptions, and a 82.8 passing rating. Career regular season rushing statistics: 669 rushing attempts, 3,590 yards, and 37 touchdowns.
This great quarterback announced his retirement from the NFL on April 17, 2008.
