Long Live the King, The King of Pop

I know this corner is for rookies and we focus on sports, but I would be so wrong not to mention the loss of a pop icon, Michael Jackson!
Michael Jackson, 50 past away June 25, 2009. This is not just a devastating loss to the entertainment industry, but to the world. We felt the loss of Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Aliyah, Left Eye (TLC), Tupac Shakur, and Biggie (Christopher Wallace), but non of these artist has accomplished or gave to the world what Michael gave to us. Millions of us have grew up with Micheal Jackson and to lose him at such a young age is mind blowing.

Michael Jackson was the child prodigy, the Humanitarian, the husband, the father, he was the video star (you couldnt wait to see the next premier), he was eccentric, he became the defendant, but overall, despite up's and down's, Michael Jackson was an International Superstar! Jackson gave us his all. He strived to be the best and beat the best, which was himself and he pulled the best out of others that he worked with. Jackson showed us moves we had never seen before, tricks and magic we thought we would never see. Jackson was the best in the industry, he is the best there ever will be. No one in the music world will ever compare to Mike.
The King of Pop had 18 no. 1 hits (including Jackson 5 songs) ranging from the year 1969 - 1995. Looking through the Windows was the last album from the Jackson 5. Michael solo album started with Ben, then there was Off the Wall (my favorite), Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory: Past, Present and Future (Book 1), and Invicible. Thriller was the best selling album of all times selling about 45 million to 104 million copies world wide. Jackson has produced, sang duets, and background for many other artist such as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Minnie Riperton, Kenny Rogers, Quincy Jones, and many more. Not to mention the artist who has sampled his music.
Although this blog was written a day after the annoucement of his death, I still found the news heartbreaking and hard to believe, that a Legend like Michael Jackson has left us so soon.
